Door of the Church of San Filastrio, Roccafranca, Italy
The Church dedicated to San Filastrio, the seventh Bishop of Brescia, stands in the municipality of Roccafranca on the remains of a chapel dedicated to the same bishop, built by Cluniac monks, at the time of the reclamation of the area. Both the marble portal and the bronze door describe episodes from the Old and New Testament; the central door, sculpted by the Sienese Vico Consorti, and two doors placed on the sides of the Church, were cast in the Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli of Florence.
